Mexican Riviera Ports - What to Do?

Will be traveling to Mexican Riviera with Royal Caribbean in Sept this year with my parents (in their 70s), my husband (he and I are in our 30s) and my 2 year old.

My dad can only walk short distances (with a cane) or if space permits, I can push him in a wheelchair. My mom loves to be out and about, my two year old loves to see and do new things.

With this varied age group of folks - what are some good suggestions for port excursions in Matzatlan, Puerto Vallarta and Cabo San Lucas?

Would like to try to find something interesting vs. sitting on a beach all day long.

Suggestions, recommendations are needed!

Thanks.

One thing I would be concerned about is taking your 2-yr-old in the taxis there. It could be possible if you get one of those combo stroller-car seats and are able to quickly install it in the back seat. But you may be crowded in a regular taxi.

Thumbs up Hotel Finisterra in Cabo

This hotel is only a 5 minute cab ride (about $5) from where the tenders dock - you will not be able to walk to it, as it is up a very steep hill and with a wheel chair – it would be difficult. You can see it from the ship. Their outside bar is shaded and gets a great breeze. I am NOT talking about their bar by the pool, but the one by the Blue Marlin’s Restaurant, just ask any of their staff. It serves food and has some of the most spectacular views anywhere in Mexico. Their fish tacos and chips and Guacamole are to die for and on a hot day (which is almost every day) - the Pacifico Beer is very cold and excellent. You can sit there for hours and just enjoy the view, the food and the quiet.

I always look forward to going there!!!

Tom
