Question Are you nervous NOW about going to the Mexican Riviera?

Have the current U.S. State Dept. warnings about Mexico made you a bit nervous about going to the Mexican Riviera?

While we'd all like to think it's only the Tex-Mex border areas and Mexico City, these warning specifically mention Acapulco as well ....

Wondering how those of you who know, go, or thinking of going to the Mexican Riviera feel about this?

I know if we ever go back to Ensenada, I'll make a case for staying on the ship, or at the most, going to the little marketplace by the pier (which is what we did the last few times there). But then, I'm not a fan of Ensenada.

I think if we go more south, (Cabo, etc.), I'll consider any recent activity in those ports.

I am not to worried about it. We normally do not go too far from the ship. We currently have 2 cruises booked to Mexico over the next 12 months

We've made several trips to Mexico, and are going again in November. I have never felt unsafe, but will take the appropriate precautions. ie, don't go anywhere alone, book excursion with the cruiseline etc...

We're going in November as well. I, just today, booked a private tour with someone highly recommended on a cruise message board. I feel safer touring with a person familiar with the area and is being paid to keep us safe. If I weren't able to find someone so highly recommended I would take a ships tour and feel safe that way. If things seem to be very serious around the time of our visit.....I'll stay on the ship.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and take precautions and not look back. We did cancel our Egypt/Greece cruise that we had booked in November because of the fact of rioting and kidnapping's going on over there right now. I figure we can go sometime when things calm down.
