I'm not sure where you found that, it may have been something that took place after Eduardo died. I'm sure the cruise lines would not help them if they didn't have the proper credentials but who knows. Or maybe its just the website they no longer do for the orphanage?
It has that notice on there in the FAQs section, I don't think I ever looked in there before. Since Roberto recommended it and help me organize it I didn't totally go through the website
They way I read it is the office on the US side was Marsh Children's Home Acapulco, Inc. which has been closed. The Acapulco Orphanage is Hogar Infantil Marsh, A.C. and is still open and houses the 80+ kids
All the links on the very bottom of the 'About us: legas Status" page are outdated. Clicking on any of them takes me to a web search for" www.MarshChildrensHome.com."
It' si currently almost 7am when I read this post, I will call Jovita later in the morning and keep every one updated.
Let me just quickly explain, A.C. means Civil Association, I.A.P. means Public Adminstrated Institute; for tax purposes, benefits, they must register as the second.
A Civil Association technically can not provide donation invioces or slips for companies or people that donate; in Mexico, donating money to these charities is 100% tax deductible.
The orphanage is still open, so relax, I am sure that they will have to change their legal "business" title.
