When we cruise the Caribbean we always get an inside cabin as the balcony isn't worth the extra cost. 90% of the time what you see from the balcony is water, right? We have never cruised the Mexican Riviera before and are wondering, from a purely scenic point of view (as with Alaska) is there an advantage to having a balcony?
Reggie is correct. Other than when entering or leaving port, you are not in site of land.

We booked a balcony for the Caribbean, but more for scenery it was for getting fresh air into our cabin and having our own little piece of fresh air.
