    Puerto Vallarta - Hotel Krystal

Has anyone ever gone to the Hotel Krystal in Puerto Vallarta?

If so, how far from the pier is it?

How much did it cost to get in?

    What was the place like?

I'll be going on Oct. 26th, so I can give you a full report.

It is a 5-7 minute walk from the pier.
It doesn't cost anything to get in.
They welcome cruisers, just bring your own towel.
They have a spa there, $30-35 for a 75 minute massage.

    Thanks for the information.

We are leaving for San Diego on Nov 4.

Do you turn right or left after exiting the cruise terminal?

KK, Here are the directions I got from another board. I'll let you know when I get back if they are good. We have massages booked at the spa.

Krystal Resort, PV, shortcut directions: (Dont' walk out to the main drag, it's a long walk that way) ... just off the gangway there is a large circular building, go to the right around it. On the other side go across the square with the flea market on your right. Go straight ahead toward the large white wall with a yellow wall behind it. Go through the gate at the left end of the white wall. Walk down this back street past several condos and resorts to the end of the street where it turns left, and there's the Krystal sign welcoming cruisers. This is about a 5-7 minute walk, sometimes over rough cobblestones. A guard at the gate eyeballs you and greets you, no ID required ( I guess they can tell cruisers from a mile away :-)) and you walk in. It's takes a few minutes to walk through the pretty grounds to get to the pools. No free towels, bring ship towels. Did you see our photos of it?

    Thanks for the directions.

It will be a further walk from our ship. The last couple of times we were there HAL had to use the new cruise terminal which is not directly across from the white circular building.

We were at the new dock across the street from Wal-Mart and Sam's club.

We've been to the Krystal, it was many years ago, there was a nice beach, you could see the ships out in the harbor from there. There is parasailaing and kayaking etc from the beach. Very short walk from the ship. We'll be on the Vision 10/23 cruise and maybe we'll try it when we get back from our tour arranged with PV Pam!!
    Upcoming cruise:
Avalon Luminary 4/28/12, with time in Amsterdam and Paris before and after

I can't believe that we have been to Puerto Vallarta at a dozen times over the years and this was the first we have heard of the Krystal.

PV Pam is Puerto Vallarta Pam. She is an American who has lived in PV for many years. She was in the travel business for a while, works at a hospital now I think. You can email her at pmt15@hotmail.com. She has a Cruiser's guide to Puerto Vallarta that she can email you, and she also can arrange for discounts at certain places. She has an English speaking guide, Cervando, that you can hire for $35 an hour (up to 7 people in his air conditioned van). He will take you wherever you want to go. We've rented him for the morning, 4 hours, he is going to meet our ship. I'm on the Vision with Isujim, and 7 of us are going together--talk about affordable!!!!!

Thanks for the info Dobie!! I've put it away for our next trip to PV. I'm always looking for new things to do in port.
