Roberto any suggestions for our next visit?
Not sure if RCI offers the bird island tour, they take you to a small island at the Coyuca Lagoon with a guide and show you the different wildlife that lives there.

There is no other tour as entertaining and informative as the turtle camp tour, for children.

Most other tours are just fun and sun.

I personally like the glass bottom boat rides to La Roqueta island, where they feed the fish, show you the sunken "Our lady of Gudalupe" and drop you off at the island for snorkeling and swimming. Don't eat there, just order soda or beer and take a sandwich.

Thanks for the ideas. Sounds good. There is an Estuary Tour in Mazatlan that we have taken before and we're going to take it again on this next cruise. It was great!!

Question Roberto - do you know of any cooking class in Acapulco?

Roberto,

I will be Acapulco on Wednesday, December 16th aboard the Radiance of the Seas.

I am looking for a cooking class - specifically how to make corn tortillas and tamales - any suggestions?

Tom

Unfortunately the only cooking tour has to be pre-arranged with a local tour operator, your best bet is to go to a local kitchen known as "Fonda" where they make very low budget meals (35 Pesos for soup, main course, a fruit drink and a bunch of hand made tortillas) and befriend the people making the food, they rarely speak English, so you need a translator or guide. I am sure if you have a good guide, he will take you to these fondas arrange a small lesson.

The difficulty on how to make tortillas is the corn dough, they usually buy it from mills and make them with a small steel press.

Fondas are located through out Acapulco, at the Zocalo, Parazal Flea Market, main market, here is where most of us have lunch and then take a siesta.

Good luck and let me know how it went.
