We will be in Acapulco in Nov, coming in on the Mercury. The two things I would be most interested in doing would be the Cliff divers and maybe taking my Kids Snorkeling.
Does that hotel where you recomended snorkling have a voucher system? How does it work to visit there is you are not guests?
I'm thinking we could take a cab an have lunch and do the cliff divers, then grab another cab and head over to that hotel to do the snorkling? What do you think?? Would this work??

At the hotel, the dive shop owner will ask to hold an ID till you return the equipment.
Sounds like a plan, cabs are the best way to get around, although you should practice a little spanish if you're gonna use the VW beetles.
I take dance lessons at my daughters dance studio as part of the family unlimited program. We both take Mexican Folklorico and Flamenco. Our teacher speaks English, but she is origninally from Agua Prieta. Some of the assistant teachers are also fluent in both Spanish and English, but a few of the students come across the border for class and one teacher speaks limited English. The lady from Mexico is so nice and friendly, but she doesn't speak much English at all. So I practice a little Spanish, but it has been over twenty years since I had it in school
Voy a Mexico en Novembre.
Well thats about it, sounds like I need to practice more.
DD and I are very much looking forward to the Ballet Floklorico onboard the ship and the Mariachi's. We can even do a little folklorico with the Mariachis when they play at the deck party onboard the ship.

You get an "A", just note it's spelled Noviembre. I am sure you will enjoy the Folkloric dancers and the Mariachi, the show is very good; I've seen it every year and they add new dances and songs, and they will have a new wardrobe by the time the ship arrives into port.
Learn the spanish basics.
Una cerveza más, por favor. (one more beer please)
Muy caro (too expensive)
No gracias (no thank you)
Donde están las señoritas (no, that one is just for single guys)
Make sure you're seated close to the dance floor, at the end of the show they invite visitors to join the fun.
any idea of what the cab fare would be to the cliffs and then another cab to the hotel for snorkling?
If you take the port approved cabs, thay charge about $12 USD for each place, but if you take the street cabs, it should cost $5. difference is quality, VW beetle VS suburban van.
Hi, We will be sailing on 10/29 on NCL Star to the Mexican Riviera. It will be our first time in Acapulco.
We are interested in seeing Diego Rivera's home, seeing the cliff divers, and possibly doing some water activites.
Is the snokerling good in Acapulco and where is a good place for the snokerling?
I am Mexican and my DH is also Mexican. I speak fluent Spanish too.
I also heard that Acapulco is jungle-like...is that true?
Thanks!
Hi SS,
It's not actually his home, but a dear friend dolores Olmedo; he made the murals as a thank you for lending him her home to stay in Acapulco.
Snorkeling is not the best option, the water is usually murky and very poor visibility, if you want to try it, go to Boca Chica hotel or Las Palmitas beach at the Roqueta Island.
Acapulco is a big city, no jungle around for at least 35 miles, well, you can say we are an urban jungle; you will find all sorts of interesting people and a lot of hotels.
Roberto, hopefully you will still be here on this board! As I stated you will be missed. You are such a great help to everyone. I read so much negative remarks about Acapulco as stay on the ship and it's not worth a port visit and so on.
BUT after I found your posts I'm more excited about Acapulco then the other 3 ports and it's all because of you and the great info you provide.

Hi Judy,
Nice to see you found me here, email me and I'll explain the problem.
