Its my moms first cruise though so Im excited to take her!
they havent released the TA rates yet so thats why I dont know for sure if I can get on that. Hopefully it will be next week though and I can get it nailed down!
Trying to hop on the 7-22 sailing and would love to hear opinions if you have them Havent been on the ship at all, so any opinions would be great.
Thank you!
Binny,
I think you will love her. Medium sized (by today's standards), she is easy to get about. Beautiful dining room and lovely public spaces. We cruised on her 6.5 years ago, so I am sure she has aged some, but I am sure with grace.
We are going to go back on her in October, so I will look forward to your comments when you get back.
This is the only RT Seattle this year that goes to Skagway ( where I was based when I worked for HAL) so it fits all the requirements. The 22nd is my Birthday as well so it would be really great to be there then.
We enjoyed the ship very much. The T-Pool is great. I believe there is a charge of $10 per day. We did it one day and were in and out of it several times. It was never crowded.
When we first cruised on her (1998), the T-Pool was a freebie. It is (or at least was earlier this year) a freebie on the Millie class.
As you noted, theire is now a charge for it on Mercury (and her sisters). bummer :thumbsdow :thumbsdow :thumbsdow
But I will probably overcome my adversity for paying for nickle and dime things because I just love it.

A veteran - whether active duty, retired, national guard or reserve - is someone who, at one point in his or her life, wrote a blank check made payable to "My Country", for an amount of "up to, and including my life." That is honor and courage.

I believe it is still a freebie on the millie class
It does keep the crowds down on the Mercury

I have been onboard Mercury for two 7 day cruises and we are planning a 5 day girlfriend cruise onboard October1 - 5.
We sailed a 7 day California / Mexico cruise on her April 2005 and a RT Alaska cruise onboard Aug. 2004.
We love Mercury. She is older, but very well preserved like some of us!
I love her lay out and nautical colors. The public areas are VERY nice and we feel at home onboard. She has a GREAT fun loving staff! I hope most of them are onboard in October! BECAUSE WE LOVE TO HAVE A HOOT OF A TIME!
