    cruiser friendly

I am adding the blog to a very dear friend of mine Terry Breen.

She is a lecturer onboard the Regent Seven Seas Cruises vessels.

This is from her bio at the cruiser friendly web site:
Voted the most popular and personable lecturer ever to board a Regent Seven Seas Cruise vessel, Terry Breen is a product of a Czech mother and a Shakespearean actor father. So she comes by her passion and stage presence naturally – to the benefit of all who have the opportunity to hear her speak. She did her doctoral studies in cultural anthropology and used her academic experience to transition to the world of travel where in-depth knowledge of people and places is essential. She has lived and traveled throughout Latin America and was employed by several international airlines and tourism boards in the region. In 1990, she traded her wings for waves when she first began working onboard cruise ships in South America. As of 2006, she has sailed around Cape Horn 39 times and through the Panama Canal 61 times!

I recived a new News Letter from Terry Breen and her Cruiser Friendly web site. Looks like she is back on her beloved Regent ships and here I was thinking she would show up on my doorstep soon ,as she said she would

    **************************

What a day! The Atlantic is calm and azure blue. The sky is clear with puffy, white clouds along the horizon. Above masked boobies soar; spying a fish they pull back their wings and aim toward the water. They shoot down like darts barely causing a ripple. Onboard the decks chairs around the pool are filled with sun worshippers while inside other guests attend lectures, cooking classes or just finish a challenging sudoku. I guess this is why people like to cruise. I have to admit - especially on a day like today - it is very nice! We are bound for Rio. We will be sailing in tomorrow morning. Among the top three most beautiful harbors in the world (Hong Kong and Sydney being the other two) we are gearing up for a beautiful morning. If the weather holds Captain Fichet Delavault will do a few of his signature 360º turns in front of the famous beaches of Copacabana and Ipanema. It should be good. After our two day stay we will continue down to my favorite city - Buenos Aires. For those of you who are digging out of the ice and snow, know that are thoughts are with you; just remember that somewhere the sun is shining and hopefully soon it will be shining on you!

    Seven Seas Mariner makeover:
he Mariner did go into dry-dock in January and she is lookin' good! Originally we were all expecting major structural changes but I am happy to report that most of what she underwent was cosmetic. The dark blue carpeting has been removed and in its place there is a subtle palette of beige and taupe; the Italian designers did a beautiful job highlighting passageways and stairwells with different patterns and tones. The walls were all wallpapered in neutral beige.

The biggest change was in dining rooms and lounges. Existing furniture was recovered in deep jewel colors and new over-stuffed chairs and settees were added. The Compass Rose has been completely...

    Travels with Terry:

in addition to looking forward to being back on the Seven Seas Mariner this summer, I have been working on a few other projects. As many of you know, I have 90 minutes of footage that is being edited for posting on YouTube. Though my time at home is limited we are making progress. I hope to have 3 - 5 short clips up during my next break. I also have the new and improved 3rd edition of the Cruiser Friendly Onboard Guide to Alaska's Inside Passage that is waiting for a graphic designer and reprinting along with the Cruiser Friendly Onboard Guide to The Panama Canal. With the new look of the books I want to launch a new website that can also feature the YouTube clips. When it comes together it will all be great. I also have been answering questions for a new cruise forum. Currently, it can be found at http://forums.cheapertravel.com/ However, I believe that an independent site is going to be launched catering to the luxury cruise market. It has been fun answering questions not only on cruising but anything having to do with areas of travel that I can address. From time to time I hope to post a few articles and I do intend to lead some groups during my "free time." In the meantime - write me some questions - please! I know so many of you have questions because you do write me personally - your question is probably someone else's question so now you can post it to a public site. Ask Terry Travel!

    __________________________________________________ ____________

have to admit - it is so beautiful, I want to go outside and enjoy this day. The birds are still keeping up with us and the sun is still shining. I hope to see you all out here soon! Remember to send me some questions.Until the next time!

    Sincerely,
