    Sparta is not too far from Mycenae, if I recall correctly, but I don't know if there is much to see there. I think I remember my husband saying that the Spartan culture didn't lend itself to lasting memorials, but I may be confused. We went in October, which is after most of the crowds are gone.


    Let me know if you want the name of the driver I used in Athens.

    Please give me the Driver then Mindy. It is probably a long way off but I can file it away. Presumably he was good ?

    Yes the Spartans didn't build walls ( figured they didn't need them) and stuff so their ancient city just morphed into a modern one. It is more a matter of visiting the place they existed. I'll bet there is a museum though.
