    european cruise weather question

I am thinking about going on a mediterranean cruise this october...my fear is that it will be so cold that we wont be able to enjoy the pools and things on the ship while cruising....has anyone had this before?

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

A bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.

Hi there - a warm welcome to CLF!!
I am glad you found us.

Where in the Med are you planning on going and with which ship??

October is usually very rainy since its just after a very warm and dry summer. October is however not cold, the temperature is very comfortable.
If you want warm your best months are late May to mid June. June to the end of August is very hot. September is really comfortable also.

    Welcome aboard

I was in the Med at the end of October early November last year and it was warm enough to go in the pool and sit outside in the sun.

But we did also get rain, it depends if your are going into the eastern or western Med.

Like Lars said, July and August are very hot (too hot for me)

Is May usually wet or dry? I will be walking outside a lot and like the original poster swimming onboard. For me perfect weather means 60-70s and sunny. I don't want to go anywhere in September/October, which is part of football season.

We were there in October last year doing two 7-night cruises to the Greek Islands and it was a wonderful time of the year. While in the Alps, it was chilly, in the islands it was warm and VERY nice.

When thinking about doing Europe, consider this; Paris is roughly the same type of weather as you'd find in Washington, DC. So the further south you go from there is basically like going south of DC.

But May, at least in the Greek Islands, will normally be very nice as well.
