I am sorry to rain on your parade but what the embassy and Royal Caribbean say might be two different things.
I would check less then 3 months before departure in case any changes has occured.
I have read from previous Royal Caribbean cruisers that their passport was held at embarkation so the ship could handle the visa for Egypt.
The same will probably be the standard for our November cruise.

Keep it checked of your list but re-check it

My wife , Karen and I will be going on the Ruby Pricess July 15. for a twelve day. This will be our first cruise in a little over two years. It is our retirement gift to ourselves. We leave from Barcelona (purchased an extra night there) then on to Monte Carlo, Livorno, Civitavecchis, Naples, Mykonos, Istanbul, Kusadeasi, Athens and Venice for two nights. This is our first European cruise (or visit to Europe for that matter). We are growing more excited about it as the days get closer. We will probably post many questions about this trip but at this point any suggestions about what tour to take (or not take) or anything in general about this type of cruise will be greatly appreciated. I especailly need to know how to ask for beer in the local languages. Spanish is all I know now

Beer is going to work almost everywhere. You can add a soft a at the end to make it sound a bit better. (ie. Bira, Birra, or Biere). You may need to remember Mpura in Athens and on the Greek Islands. Have fun!

Lars, OK it is back on the list. As we get closer please let me know if you learn more. I will do the same.

ask for a mythos in greece(pronounced meethos)
don't forget cerveza in spain, and efes in turkey
