Please help us decide what area in the Mediterranean to visit...

We are in the pre-planning stage to the Mediterranean, we really have not decided for sure that we want to go until we can get more info.

We've never been and it all sounds like a great cruise but we really don't know what cruise to chose.

Anyone that has been there I would appreciate your input.

My DS for sure has to go to Monte Carlo, and we do know for sure that we want to go on a 14 day cruise and we have been looking at RCCL and none other right now.

We also want to travel in the Fall as I have read the weather is a lot nicer that time of the year.

Obviously we are first timers to this region and any advice would be so helpful.

    Thank you

Have fun planning your cruise. I don't see a Royal Caribbean ship that hits Monte Carlo, but there is an Azamara. I like this one because it starts and ends in the same place, Barcelona. It stops at St. Tropez, Monte Carlo, Florence, Rome overnight, Sorrento overnight, Sicily, Malta, Tunisia, Menorca, Palma de Mellorca and back to Barcelona. The over night stops are nice. It leaves in September and prices for the "cruise only" start at around 2300 per person for the cheapest inside cabin. Azamara has some nice offers for those who need "Fly/Cruise" packages. Vacations to go is a good place to start your research. Spend as much time on this web-site as possible, before you commit. The information is very helpful and plentiful. It will pay off. Good Luck and keep us posted.

Thank you, I have some research to do before we can make a decicion.

RCCL has a 14 day cruise that does cover Monte Carlo I think it's the Independance Of THe Seas.

Brilliance also goes to the French Riviera including Monte Carlo.

You should go after mid - end of September as the weather is to warm by mid June to mid September. Also the corwds are less then. You will also be able to get a better deal "off season"

We did 12 days on the Emerald Princess, Barcelona to Venice that included Greece and Turkey. We were gone 8/24-9/9 with an overnight in Barcelona. It was still very hot and humid but that didn't stop us from having an amazing time. I wrote a trip report with pictures that is around here somewhere! We did all the ships tours and were pleased with everyone.
It was called the Grand Mediterranean and I think the Ruby Princess might be doing that one this year.
I had also wanted to go to Monte Carlo but our cruise went to Marsaille instead and I was ok with our choice to do this one!
