    Maui

Just returned from land vacation. Beautiful island. Hyatt Hotel is great. Beautiful hotel, landscaping, & pools. Highly recommend Kiele V, 55 foot catamaran. We did snorkeling one day & Sunset Cocktal Cruise the next. They motor out & sail back. Friendly, efficient crew.

I'll try & post some pics soon.

Glad you enjoyed your vacation. My first two times in Hawaii (incl. one time in Maui) were land-based vacations. This next cruise will stop in Lahaina in December so I'll just have to pre-plan everything (or pre-plan doing nothing).

We weren't far from Lahaina. Only thing I didn't like was how early everything shuts down. Definitely not a late night party place.

We docked in Lahania on the Infinity in April........loved Maui..........you are right though about things shutting down early.........we thought that was strange in a tourist place as well.........

JustBeingMe - that would be great to see some pics!

When I was in Lahaina on the NCL Star in April 03 we took a tour up to Mt. Haleakala.... great views and interesting crater.

I have been to Maui three times, each time we stayed in Kehei, to the southeast of the island. Lahaina was a neat little area, I enjoyed the shops. I was never there in the evenings, so I cannot comment on the times.

We went up to the top of Haleakela to watch a sunrise, pretty spectacular.

I was also surprised at how quickly one could be in a rain forest and 2 miles later be in a desert.....very interesting environment.

Best snorkling I ever experienced was in Maui, Kameole Beach 2.:headbang2
I used to be number 1 in frubals.....now I'm nothing

Considering we had to get up at 3:30 am to be there in time, there was a lot of people, over one hundred anyways.
