Has anyone taken the Road to Hana tour from Lahaina? We will be on the Serenade of the Seas and have booked this tour with Ekahi Tours. Is it worth doing and do you know anything about Ekahi?
Thanks
Arlene

We did this on our own, as we has a car rented in Maui.
We didn't think the attraction was the road itself, so we were looking forward to getting to Hana. We were sort of disappointed once we got there, and didn't go past Hana, where those pools are.
In restrospect, I wish we had just traveled just a little down it, possibly only haveway, cause we had to go back the same way we came.

Hey Arlene
One of our Stewards (hanna) just got back from a Hawaii cruise and did the Road to Hana tour. I'll alert her to your question and when she logs on she can give you her experience.![]()
The road to Hana was a real adventure. We decided not to drive it by ourselves as we felt the driver would get cheated out of the sights. So we took Roberts Hawaiian tours. Our driver was a real nice lady named Peggy Sue. We left the dock at about 9 ish and didn't return until almost 6.
It was a full day. She made plenty of potty stops and also the usual tourist trap stops, but nothing was "pushed". The road to Hana was gorgeous. The beautiful Hawaii landscape was the best of the islands that we saw. We stopped at beaches that were gorgeous. I have posted a few pictures if you are interested. http://www.cruiselinefans.com/radian...ml#post1102130
We did see a few Ekahi buses but I know nothing about them. Roberts Hawaiian seems to own the islands as far as tours go.

Hanna,
Thank you for your reply to my question about the Road to Hana.I looked at your pictures but didn't see any of the trip to Hana. Did I miss them?
We too, are booked to go to the Old Lahiain Luau. I'm really looking forward to it as our son and daughter-in-law were at it last year and said it was great.

Arlene, I started a trip report. Click on my signature to read and see pictures. I haven't finished it yet though. But at this point there are some pictures of the Road to Hana.

The road to Hannais a long and winding road.

Seriously though, it's well worth the trip. Hana itself is a very small town, populated by locals who, for the most part, work in other parts of the island. The road itself is part of the attraction, but there's lots to see along the way, and beyond Hana itself. As Hanna mentioned, it's a full day, but a good one. Enjoy!![]()
