    Boston/Montreal Sept 1, 2007

My husband and I are going from Boston to Montreal. I see others doing the opposite. Anyone going this direction?? My husband and I signed up to join friends doing this trip, but they have had to cancel. We've been on the old Noordam but that's the only HAL ship, so we are looking forward to this one. We've mostly sailed Princess and one on NCL, also an older ship. We have done a Rhine River Cruise and have enjoyed all our cruising experiences. I'd love to hear anything anyone knows about the excursions on this New England cruise. Angel

We have done similar cruises on the Maasdam for Canada/New England. And will be doing it again this August. There are a couple of people who are doing a similar cruise on the Roll Call for Eurodam in 2008. I posted quite a bit of information of what we did on that thread. Check it out.

    Hi Angel! Welcome to CLF!

Like you, we sailed on the old Noordam ages ago. Also, same as you, most of our cruises have been on Princess.

We'll be going on the NE/Canada on Eurodam next year (9/21/08). Please feel free to join us on that thread any time you wish. KK (that's what we call Krazy Kruizers) is very familiar with the itinerary and is being lots of help to us there!

If you have any questions in general, just ask in the regular HAL section here on CLF. KK, localady, laffnvegas, etc. have sailed lots on HAL and can answer most questions.

Great to have you here at CLF! Everyone is very friendly so just join right in and make yourself at home!

    thanks Lulu

thank you for he welcome. I can't figure it all out, but working on it. I will out of the country for the next couple of weeks. I'll check back then. This time it's a "working trip" I will be with a church group and on the Black Sea working with a church in Constanta. We have done this for a couple of years now and made some great Romanian friends. Take care, more later

    Hi Angel,

My husband and I will be on your cruise. We live outside of Boston. This is the second time we have booked a cruise from Boston. A few years ago we took the kids and grandkids on a chartered Carnival ship. We had a good time, but the food on the Carnival Victory was so bad my husband (who is overweight, as I am) lost 3 pounds on a 3-day weekend.

We have been on both Holland America and Princess (where we are Elite level (finally).

We've signed up for only one shore excursion - the Cabot Trail - which my husband wants to see. He has not been to Cape Breton or Montreal, where we will be staying for 3 nights.

I hope we have gorgeous weather. I will have to ask the weather Gods for good weather. Usually when I do, my wish is granted.

Are you back from your business trip?

Perhaps we can meet up on board.

Have you been to Boston before? We live in the western suburbs and regularly go into town.

If you email me at Charlies71mom@hotmail.com, we can discuss how to find each other on the ship. I don't like to give out my room number on an open forum.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Roberta

We will try to keep the ship in good condition for you all. We will be getting off when you get on.

    Hi KK,

Have a terrific time. Is this your first Canada/New England set of cruises? We thought about doing a b2b also, but my husband has never been to Montreal, so we opted to stay there for a few days.

Do you live locally? The best part of this cruise for us is just taking a taxi to the ship - not worrying about whether or not our luggage makes it on the plane.

Also, we are not going to the ends of the earth - just to our neighbor a bit to the North.

will you be posting from the ship?

    Roberta

    Hi Roberta

Years ago we did a Canada/New Ebgland cruise on the Maasdam out of New York. We were supposed to have been on the Volendam but she wasn't ready - 1999.

Then in 2004 we did a repositioning cruise from Ft Lauderdale to Montreal. We stayed in Montreal for a few days after the cruise as we had never been there.

We have been to all of the ports.

We have done quite a few back-to-back cruises but this will be our first Canada/New England one.

We live souteast of Pittsburgh so we will be flying into Boston a day early.
