Thread: Maasdam 5/19/07 Montreal to Boston

Anyone else coming along on this sailing??

Hi Rod, I would love to be going on your sailing but in June I will be going to Alaska on the Noordam. Back in 2005 we did the New England / Canada run on the Maasdam and loved it. I think you will be very pleased with the Maasdam. We were atually considering a return in 2008 to the Maasdam for summer but we just dread that long flight from Las Vegas. I see you live in Sioux City. DH and I are originally from Iowa he from much closer to you in Alta Iowa, I am from Cedar Rapids but living in Iowa no matter where you go it is a bit longer flight but at least either side of the US is about the same. Living here in Vegas we can just choose anywhere on the West Coast, San Diego or Seattle or Vancouver and get Non-stop flights. Because of that ease we have just gotten so we prefer cruising over on this side of the states.

Thanks for the update about your experience on the Maasdam. My first cruise, which was back in 1994 and 20+ cruises ago, was on the old Noordam southbound Alaska cruise. After that cruise, I was hooked on cruising for life! It's odd, but I haven't been back on a HAL ship, and am truly looking forward to the Maasdam and the Canada/New England cruise. Wish you and you were husband were going along on the Maasdam. It sounds like we have a lot in common...cruising, IOWA, and Las Vegas.

If you can give me any pointers on the ports of call and any tips about the Maasdam, I'd love to hear.
