Oh, yes - I would cruise from NOLA given half a chance.
(Especially if the cruise in question were going to Roatan, of course!)
Having lived there briefly (in my younger and more adventureous days,) I wouldn't mind making a small contribution to the Big Easy's financial comeback. It really was a wonderful city.
Traveling there 2-3 times a year, I will continue to support the comeback. All the wonderful times I've had there, there's no way I wouldn't want to see it rebuilt and come back better than ever. The people, the food and the music are worth it all!
I am dying to have an excuse to drive to New Orleans and dump money in all the communities hit by Rita and Katrina.
Having been through an evacuation (well, I only went as far as the airport, but I did have to pack as if my house would not be around when I returned), I know how very lucky I am that neither of these nasty women came to Houston. I want to help people who were not as fortunate as I, and I think the best and most dignified way to do that would be to purchase goods and services from people trying to make a living by working.

Actually if you're looking for an excuse, might I suggest the French Quarter Fest held in mid-April. Very much fun and not quite as expensive or crowded as Jazz Fest. Of course Jazz Fest is kicking, the entertainment is superior value for the money. Then there's the Tomato Festival. August will be a Six String Musical Event sponsored by the NOLA and Biloxi parrothead club! Way tooo much fun!
