I was just looking at the web site and it says that Louisiana has more than 400 festivals every year! That's a lot of celebrating!

I always think of Bridge City for Gumbo Festival :

The French Quarter Festival was this past weekend as was the Strawberry Festival in Ponchatoula.

Thanks Canarymoon for starting this thread. I am from New Orleans and it would be great if all you cruise fans would pay us a visit!! The jass fest is right around the corner and it lasts for 2 weekends in a row. There is so much to see, the French Quarter, take a swamp tour (very interesting!), take a plantation tour, you can even take a cemetary tour. (It's not as morbid as you might think.) I think they are still offering some type of Katrina tour. I personally have not been on that tour, I saw enough for free! Anyway, New Orleans is a very interesting place to visit. Just be sure to bring some Tums, because we like everything spicy down here!
