This afternoon is the Le Vie en Rose sail away party that we missed last Friday. Since we are leaving at 5, the sail away party begins at 4:30 so we will definitely stop in to check it out.
The menus are not running in the same order. Last night’s menu was the same as the first night when we got on the Maasdam in Boston. But tonight’s menu is the one we missed last week when we had the Ocotoberfest by the Lido Pool (Tuesday when we were in Sydney - 4th evening meal).
Very early tomorrow morning, around 4:15 AM we will enter the Saguenay River and are expected to arrive at the Statue of the Virgin Mary at about 6:30 AM.
Late in the day yesterday it was announced that the production show was to be Gold not On Track.
We did go to the sail away party in the Crow’s Nest yesterday. It was the Le Vie en Rose. There was a dark chocolate fountain. In a warming dish was the white chocolate. Each skewer had four pieces of fruit - cantaloupe, honeydew melon, pineapple and strawberry. If you wanted your fruit coated, you had to run your kabob under the chocolate. The sail away party began at 4:30 and was to lasted until 5:30. By 5:10 when we left, there weren’t any kabobs of fruit left.
We went to the Crow’s Nest at 7:30 to view the sunset. The entertainment was a singer who sang songs from Broadway Musicals for an hour. Scott played the piano and Emily sang the show tunes.

We set the clocks forward one hour during the night. There were quite a few groggy people up this morning. Mariner Rolls and hot chocolate was being served on the promenade deck. When we went to the Pinnacle for breakfast we had one of the Mariner Rolls -- it resembles a jelly donut but instead of jelly inside, there is a thick, rich cream center. We got to the Statue of the Virgin Mary around 6:45 AM at which time the naturalist came on and talked a few minutes before playing 4 versions of “Ave Maria”. We only stayed a few minutes at the Statue this time before the ship turned around and headed out of the fjord. About 2/3 of the way out of the fjord, we saw a grey seal. Then just as we were leaving the fjord to enter the St Lawrence River, we saw quite a few Beluga whales. The further out we got into the St Lawrence, we started to see many Minke whales. Compared to the other day we had a beautiful sunny morning cruising in the fjord - chilly - but sunny!!
