Live from the Millennium - Western Caribbean

Let's see if this live from goes better than the last one.....

We are leaving from Miami Monday morning. Tomorrow we fly to Miami form Dallas on American Airlines. Yes, I would prefer Southwest, but they do not fly direct and I would have to get a shuttle bus from Ft. Lauderdale to Miami. So, as much as I hate it, this is the way we are going.

Happy travels today, Neal. I hope the seats on American are comfortable for Deb's back.

Hopefully, the seas will be kind to you and not give you any grief from the storms.

There is rain scheduled in all the ports for both cruises. But, it is just rain.

Made it to Miami. Bot Deb and I got called for the the TSA inspection. For those who have not flown recently. No shoes, no belts, nothing in your pockets. They don't yet force you to strip. That is next year.

The flight was uneventful. The plane was packed and they forced the last few people on the plane to check carry on bags. All the bins were packed.

We did have to change gate though at DFW. Luckily the skyway is operational so we did not have to walk the long haul (at least a mile!) Deb was not feeling well which made the skyway that much more of a blessing.

It is raining in Miami. We got in to the crown plaza through priceline ($90). Nice hotel. Tomorrow we take a cab to the port (about $20) after stopping to get Dr. Pepper and Cherry Coke Zero.

    Hey Neal

I hope Deb will feel better in the morning. Do you think it's the weather?

Speaking of weather...here is what it's supposed to be like in Miami tomorrow.

    Monday
Mostly cloudy with showers likely and slight chance of thunderstorms. Locally heavy rainfall possible in the morning. Highs in the mid 80s. Southeast winds around 5 mph becoming northwest in the afternoon. Chance of rain 60 percent

We are in a waterfront hotel. By that I mean that the rain that we had last night is continuing today and will probably keep up until after sail time. Weather report for Roatan is rain and for Cozumel the report is slightly different - thunderstorms all day.

We may spend most of the first part of the cruise on the ship! No problem with that.

Just realized that we will probably get the same shows on the ship for both cruises. I am hoping that they are good ones. Even if not there are enough other venues we should stay busy. I brought my dancing shoes.

Thanks for checking in, and doing a live thread!

Hope the rain lets up. We leave on Friday, and it's supposed to start raining here also.
