    Live from the Golden Princess 8/29/2009

    We are not quite live yet but we will be leaving for the ship in about 40 minutes.

    This will be our first time on the Golden and I believe the 10th time to Alaska.

    We will be sailing out of pier 91 in Seattle. It is also known as Smith's Cove. The pier is locate a little north of the downtown area.

    Boarding was pretty smooth. We left home at 10:15 and were in our cabin at 11:35. After a quick snack at the Horizon Court we began to explore the ship. By the time we got to the International café we were ready for a snack. More exploring and ice cream up on deck. We seem to be setting a pattern.
    We have traditional late seating for dinner at a table for 8. We have one couple from Oregon, one couple from Southern California and a father/daughter that lives about a mile from us back home.
    The ship Golden Princess is rather large but we are finding our way around pretty well. We have noticed that the ship has a noticeable amount of movement even in calm seas.
    We had a beautiful sunrise this morning before heading into a fog bank. The horns have been sounding all morning.

    Since you are "testing" many food venues how about a run down on the variety and quality?

    Wonder why she's moving so much in calm seas? Maybe doesn't have the stabilizers deployed?
