    Live from QM2

Hi, sorry I am late starting the Live from QM2 but the internet has been very slow for the last two days. Took 5 minutes for a page to load yesterday.

Sunday, the journey down did not start well as the road was closed due to an accident, but we have set off in plenty of time so still made it to the train station on time where we met up with Alan.

Arrived in Southampton on time and were soon at the hotel and checked in with no problems. Had a nice meal at a pub near the hotel and then when to meet Harry and his family.

Very nice to meet you Harry Crown Princess sailed an hour late. It was very windy and we think they decied to get tugs to assist which caused the delay. We watched her sail then went backto the hotel.

Had a trip over to Hythe on Monday morning past the QM2 in the new Ocean Dock.

We left the hotel at just after 12 and arrived at the dock just before 12.30. As Diamond CWC members we have priority check in so we were on the ship and unpacked by 1.30, then lunch in Kings Court.

The Ship is beautiful and very grand, but comfortable. We have a good table in the dinning room by the window

Tuesday, in Zeebrugge was interesting as there was a sudden wind and the ship broke her moaring lines at the bow causing the stern to crash into the dockside. We have a look at the damage when we got to Rotterdam, it's a mess. Pictures to follow.

A VERY BIG THANK YOU TO HARRY! As a reward for passing on the drawing of QM2, Captain Bates, invited my friend Alan and me onto the bridge to watch the sailaway. It was incredable. Unfortunatley, we were not allowed to take any photos or video.

Last full day today This is much too short a cruise, but I WILL be back onboard QM2 I am sure of that.

    Hey Stephen!

Seems the weather has plagued you for most of this trip! So happy you got to be on the bridge at sailaway.....is this the first time you have been there while the ship was making maneuvers?

Can't wait to hear ALL the details and see the pictures!

    Stephen!

Great to see you have got the live from thread started. I thought you must have been having problems.

It was very nice to meet you too. I am so pleased to hear you got invited up onto the bridge, must have been some experiance! Shame about that photos though, but I can understand why, they are very strict on this type of stuff.

Enjoy the last full day on board Stephen!

Can't wait to see some of the photos and the video you recorded of the banner and horn!

Well, I am home The trip is over but was wonderful.

Yes this was a first time for me on the bridge at sailaway, I have been on the bridge on QE2, but that was a general open day whilst the ship was in port.

The ship is beautiful, but very large. I will right a full report, on what has been an eventful trip.

    Great pictures Harry

Yes it was really quite a bump, it almost knocked me off my feet.

It's a good job she is made of strong stuff, the Captain said, he thought any other ship would have had a lot more damange.
