Live from the Sovereign's New Year's Cruise

Hello to my CLF family from Nassau Harbour.

The ship is still dressed out in her holiday finery, and she looks lovely. We arrived in Nassau about noon today.

We were scheduled to leave Nassau this evening, but the Druise Director has announced that, due to inclement weather in CocoCay (where we were scheduled to be tomorrow) we will be staying an additional day in Nassau, and will sail for CocoCay at 9 PM tomorrow.

The fod is as good as usual, but we think the service is a little less than than the usual RCL standard this trip. Perhaps many of the more senior crew members are home for the holidays? DeWitt Martin is home... we haven't seen some of the other faces we might have, either.

The weather is not hot, but not cold. Goldilocks would like it!

    Happy New Year, everyone...

Happy New year to you too Sheila!!! I hope it is very relaxing for you, you deserve it!!!
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

    Happy 2004, everyone!

Last evening was quite festive around here. Dinner was very special, with party hats, noice makers, and a special menu.

The ship lingered off Paradise Island for the Atlantis fireworks, and had a big celebration up on the pool deck... we didn't see that, though, as we turned in around 10:30.
What old fuddy-duddies we have become!

    Oh well.

In Nassau, we were berthed alongside the Radiance of the Seas and the Regal Empress. The Explorer aof the Seas and the Elation were also in port on the 30th. On the 31st, it was just us and the Elation.

I finally left the ship on the 361st (G stayed aboard and napped) and went snorkeling. The water was FRIGID, but teeming with beautiful fish. Lots of photos to share if they come out!

Today, we are at CocoCay ... the perfect way to spend the first day of the year!

    Home tomorrow.

Have a wonderful New YEar, CLF friends!

    Feet back on dry land.

WE got home just before 8 am, and then had to run out for a quick breakfast since there was not a lot in the fridge.

BOY! Those people at Burger King don't even unfold your napkin and put it in your lap for you!!!!

    oops!
    Nope, just a typo.
2004 was a bit difficult, what with the string of hurricanes hitting Florida that year!

No - they didn't get their training on the high seas, did they?
