Tapas - We found that they were ordinarily sold 3 or 4 dishes for a price. Each dish had at least two of what ever the selection was. We asked the waiter for suggestions of a good variety and werent disappointed. We did find that the accompanying sangria or cava, dont remember which, made the lunch more in the range of american dinner prices but still well worth the experience. There are many, many , many places to chose from. We didnt have a specific recommendation.

    Looking forward to this trip

I know that it is 18 months away but I seriously need something to look forward to and this is it. I spent part of the day trying to figure out what perks come with the Grand Suite on RCL - so different than Princess -- no free laundry or internet it seems. Oh well - I'll manage - Gladys did tell me they do bags of laundry for $20 I believe.

Each cruise line is so different that it will be interesting to experirence. Even though I've sailed with RCL before - 17 years a difference do make - cant believe it was that long ago -- whew were do the years go.

    Smile Plans

I understand about future plans. With the new grandbaby on the way, we've cut back on travel here. Even travel to the beach has been reduced. I'm amazed at how many folks have been making hotel reservations for the Liberty cruise. Joy has an idea about an apartment, that's something that could work out.

Diane and John, Welcome. We have done a TA twice before but with Princess. This is will be only our second Royal Caribbean cruise. Looking forward to the different things on this ship even if I dont actually decide to climb the wall.

I did look around the ports part of this board and they have some good videos.

We'll be sailing with several other couples that we've sailed with before. We've already booked the Hotel Continental Barcelone for 10/27 and 10/28. This will be our 20th RCCL cruise and our 2nd time on Liberty.

    Welcome

Welcome John and Diane - glad you are joining us - this will be my 6th RCL cruise (the first one in 17 years though) DH and I have been sailing Princess in the last 10 years and have 25 (for me) 24 (for him) plus I've done several others.

We are so excited about sailing on the Liberty because it is so different from the Princess ships. We are also traveling with a group of friends (several are on this board) and we always have such a great time with them - lots of fond memories and too many laughs to count. It is a little early yet for us to consider a hotel. I'm sure we'll find something as we get closer. Although I love planning 18 months out for a hotel is just a bit too far for me -- especially since we have had to cancel all of our travel plans for 2010 because of health issues. We will be rarin' to go in 2011.

Tell us what you like the most about the RCL ships.

I think we started cruising RCCL because they were close we live near Dallas and Rhapsody was based out of Galveston at the time. Of course back then 2003 they also had Splendor and we actually had a choice and didn't have to fly. So after we did Rhapsody a 2nd time we decided to branch out and we flew to Miami. We did our first Princess cruise this past February and we love Ruby too. Once again fabulous cruise.

    Ruby

We have been on the Ruby four times now and love it. In fact, we did the inagural cruise on the Ruby. Actually I cannot think of a cruise that I ever disliked.

I wish we were going on one soon - we have had to curtail travel because of some health issues but things are looking up around here.

Welcome Diane and John, glad to hear you will be joining us.

This is our first Royal Caribbean cruise. We have sailed on a few Transatlantics but with Celebrity and Princess. We have also sailed with some of the other people here. We are really looking forward to this cruise.
