Best cabins on Legend of the Seas?

Friends of ours are going to be sailing on the Legend of the Seas on 7/18/07 to Italy and Croatia. They have never cruised before, and I've only sailed Celebrity, so I'm looking for some advice from you RCCL experts.

Can anyone offer suggestions on the best cabins for this ship? At least one balcony (I've already told them it HAS to be aft, but are they any afts that are better than others?) mostly ocean view and at least 2 insides. Any secret cabins?

The friends have been to Italy before, so they don't need advice for excursions there (although they wanted to do ship sponsored and I suggested Private tours.....any suggestions on operators?). If anyone has suggestions on Croatia, would love to hear about it!

Thanks in advance for anything you can share.

The Grand Suites are nice on LOS. I think there are inside rooms near them. The staff on this ship was great when I was on her last November. I trust your friends will have a wonderful time cruisingl.
    Have a GREAT day! Gayla

    Hi,

I have sailed on Legend OTS last September and I had a D1 cabin and the cabin I had was 7586.
If you are looking for a cabin with more space I would go for Junior Suite.

Make sure you have transfers from the airport to the port as it is at least 1.5 hours from the Rome airports and city centre to the port of Civitavechhia.

Private Tours are a bit risky....I was in Italy recently and the bus drivers decided to go on strike in the afternoon and if you have a private trip that is running late due to traffic you will get the fantastic opportunity to take a photo of the ship leaving the port

I have been to Dubrovnik in Croatia and it is a fascinating city - due to the Balkan war of the 90's you will still see some shrapnel/bullet damage to some buildings.
I would strongly recommend a city tour plus Catvat if you would like to see a small village.
This is a tender port so the queues for the tenders taking you back to the ship can get quite busy.

If you need any more info please pm me.

Legend of the Seas was one of the earlier models of this class, so they don't have the big corner balconies. Since the aft end bows out in the middle, the biggest aft balconies are 8086, the middle Junior Suite, and 6130 and 7634, the middle Balcony cabins.

In general, the price difference for JS's on this ship is not much more than the regular balcony cabins, so it's usually worth it to make the jump up. Plus RC gives you an extra credit in the Crown and Anchor Society for suites.

All the suites are on deck 8, all the regular balcony cabins are on deck 6 (aft end only) and deck 7, and all the oceanviews are on Decks 2, 3, and 6. The largest inside cabins are on deck 7 and 8, but the only ones near the aft are on deck 8.

    Hope this helps.

    6126

Come November I will have first hand knowledge on 6126 on the LOS. But until then I have no clue.

But after the cruise I will give you my thoughts through pictures and text.

Hi! Would that be this cruise, by any chance? The 13-night one?

I was about to make a post asking almost exactly the same information (general advice about cabins, etc. on Legend), since I'll also be sailing on her for the first time ever on that exact date (18th July)! talk about coincidental lucky I read this thread first!

That's the one! Haven't talked to them recently so I don't know yet if they've booked but will let you know.

    No Problem

I would be more than happy to help you two out.

If I bring my climbing gear I can take pictures of every balcony.

However I will not attempt this while we are moving as I dont think I can swim at 18 knots
