Oct: Grand Turk, St Thomas, St Maartin, Princess Cays

Oct-Nov: Nassau, CocoCay

Nov-Dec: Labadee, Ocho Rios, Grand Caymen, Cozumel

Of those places, the ones where I have not snorkeled are Princess Cays, Grand Turk, ST Maartin, and Labadee. Hear there is good snorkeling at Grand Turk!

Can't help you on Grand Turk or the others where you have not been snorkeling. I have not been to them either. See my post on the Grand Cayman site under snorkeling close to cruise ship terminals. Have not been snorkeling at Cozumel but the water by the cruise ship terminal was unbelivably clear. If you go to St. Thomas you can take a day trip over to St. John. Trunk Bay is pretty good but I think Hawkls Nest Bay was better. If intersted let me know and I can explain Haws Nest Bay.

Forgive me on the spelling. It's Hawks Nest Bay.

Yes, PLEASE do! I would love to hear!

I have only done Trunk Bay once, and that particular day, there were very rough surf conditions, and parts of the area were closed off. Were it WAS open, the visibility was poor, because much aand and silt was stirred up, due to the churning of the water.

BTW - If you have not gotten a chance to snorkel Roatan, DO IT! Fabulous!

Canary Moon:
Hawksnest Bay is before you get to Trunk Bay driving from Cruz Bay. It is about a 5 or 10 minute drive from Trunk Bay as I recall. If you are coming in on a cruise ship tour however I think it would be difficult to get there unless it is on the list of places they go. We stayed on St. John for a few days so we could drive to wherever we wanted to. You could always take the ferry over from St. Thomas on your own and rent a car there but if you get stranded you are on your own. When we were at Trunk Bay the weather was very good. It rained the day before. Got up the first day and it was cold, windy and raining. Thought o this is just great, traveled all this way and it is raining. The next day was bright sunshine. When at Trunk Bay after you are there a while you "have snorkeled everywhere" and are ready to go somewhere else so I asked one of the lifeguards where else is good and he said Hawksnest Bay. He told me about the reef going out from shore and he thought it was even bettere than Trunk Bay so off we went, and I think I agree with him. There is a reef slightly off to the left of center that goes out from shore. The water is very shallow over the reef; maybe 3 or 4 feet as I recall. So snorkeled all along the edge. Lots of coral and fish. I prefer shallow water snorkeling because the fish are much closer than in deep water so I am always looking for shallow water snorkeling. If you put in Hawksnest Bay in Google and click on images you can see pictures of the reef going out from shore.
Hope this helps.

THANK YOU so very much! This is wonderful to know about. We will be cruising there, so I will have to look carefully at it... But, if I ever get to go there to stay for a few days, I'll be snorkeling Hawks Nest for sure, thanks to you!

Yeah you are right about that.. But I did not care for the flee market, nothing to do with the bartering either, just did not care for it.

Kinda neat seeing your favorite bartender / cocktail waiter (waitress) selling your drinks on the island

I personally like the BBQ too...
