Question Is the "Tendering Process" to Labadee a Zoo?

How bad is the "tendering process" to Labadee?

We will be on Mariner. Neither being the first in line for tender tickets nor getting perfect seats at the beach is important to us. About what time do the lines thin out?

Figure about an hour to an hour and a half after they begin. And come back about an hour before closing. The line is VERY long in both directions!! Standing in line on the ship isn't bad compared to standing in the hot humid sunny weather on the beach!

LuLu we did not think it was bad at all. We were on the Freedom and we were able to get off on the first tender over we were in line for. Now we did not rush to be the first person off and they did not even have the tender tickets for this cruise. We were able to find the perfect place on the beach exactly where we wanted to be.

Thanks CP & jsme for your replies.

The tender situation sounds the same as other private islands!

The bad thing is they close the bars down sooooooo early! Guess, we'll just have to order a couple of extra before they close so we'll have something to sip on while we wait ....

It doesn't take long. We usually get up about 8am. Go to the Weeenjammah for coffee and breakfast. Back to the room to get our stuff and get in line... Both on Grandeur (medium sized) and Navigator (big). Labadee is a great stop.

That's the one thing I always hated about Princess - they close their bars at 1:30pm when the last tender doesn't leave until 3:30 or so. Sucks when they close down the bars so early!! You would think that since they make so much money on alcohol, they'd want to keep the bars open as late as possible.

Hmmm, I had never noticed how early bars close on the private islands. We normally go back on the ship in time to get ready and have a drink before dinner. Sometimes we go on and get a drink and head to the pool or the hot tub and others we go and have a nap prior to getting ready. I do not think we have closed an island down yet. I know at Coco Cay a few years ago we had a storm coming in and we had to leave early and we were some of the last tenders according to the announcement but they were still running them for a few hours after.
