I was there this past March/April and found them a little aggressive... I am comparing them to Bahamas since that is the only place I have seen something like that....
They all have the same stuff like said by Pete, I personally have no need for any of it. But the lady likes to shop and look so we took a walk through and this is what happened ...
Saw two or three small buildings, think two, went through the first building, nice setup, like a store...
Then we headed outside and found a vendor selling beautiful paintings, they were nice, but we have no place to hang them... Or that kind of money right now...
Then we headed into the flea market, comparing it to Nassau, Bahamas - worse. One guy (kindly) took my hand and took me to his section... I humored him (I understand, it is the way they make money), and kindly said no thanks.. Even tossed in an excuse... No room for something like that, or no need for that...(it does not matter...) So, we kept on trucking, then they started getting more and more aggressive, being talked to by 3 or 4 different vendors at once each wanting you to look at their well... crap. Uggg, So, we found an exit half way or less and bailed...
Then as we headed away from that mess, some were hanging out of the windows trying to get us (and whoever else bailed) to come back in and see THEIR stuff....
My girlfriend is very quiet and not very out spoken when needed, she likes to look, touch a little, and maybe buy...
She did very good when in Bahamas in buying a purse, even talked the guy down.. (Myself and her sister looked at each other with that...Is that Michele? Look HA HA) But anyway, for someone like her it makes a very lousing shopping experence.
Sad part is, if left alone, she might have bought some of that "crap" just to support them and take a piece of Haiti home..
Anyway, that was our experence for anyone who might be able to compare ...
