We will be in Key West in late September. We are planning the aquarium, butterfly house and maybe the Hemmingway House. Is there something that kids will enjoy more? Maybe the lighthouse? And of course, we will have to get some Key Lime Pie! And I have heard Flamingo Crossing has great ice cream, anyone been there? Thanks!

It's always a good idea to take the Conch Train ride. They explain all about Key West in depth. It's a great way to see the city. Then you can decide where would be the best place to visit with the kids. The aquarium is always a good bet. I believe the trolley ride lasts about 1 1/2 hrs. And buy some key lime juice while you're there and you can impress your friends when you get home. It's easy to make and soooo good. A little tip...forget the marengue (sp?), just use whipped cream.
Thanks for the replies! I should have mentioned that my kids are 2 and 5. That kind of limits our time out sightseeing!
KathyB - I will have to make a pie now. Thanks!
canarymoon - I had already read your cat report, I really enjoyed! My kids absolutely love cats, so I guess we will have to go by and take some pictures with them.
Years ago I took our 2 & 5 year old granchildren to Key west. Got a stroller from the ship and took most of the ride things. Stopped for soda, and munches when needed, it went very well.
Some people try to turn back their odometers. Not me! I want people to know why I look this way. I've traveled a long way, and some of the roads weren't paved.

We found the Conch Train ride very interesting, and educational. Unfortunately, our ship left early so we didn't really have time to go back to check out any of the places we'd seen. DW picked up some great bargains at a couple of the shops near the pier.

Hemmingway house is neat.........but I think it would be a long haul for a 2 and 5 year old..........get some type of transportation......just my opinion.
We love Key West........one of our favorite stops.
Welcome to CLF...........I haven't come across any of your posts.......just wanted to welcome you.

Thanks for the info. If we go that far, we will take transportation! Thanks for the welcome. I haven't posted much, most of my questions I have found answers for here by searching. I really like this forum.
