Royal Caribbean International revised Jewel of the Seas' 2006 program to include a series of seven-night Canada/New England sailings roundtrip from Boston. The ship had been scheduled to operate 10-night Bermuda/Caribbean itineraries. The 2,100-passenger Jewel of the Seas will be the only Royal Caribbean vessel operating Canada/New England routes next fall. RCI president Adam Goldstein said the decision to send Jewel northward was due to a ‘tremendous’ guest response to last year’s Canada/New England itineraries.
Following a 12-night transatlantic cruise departing from Harwich on Sept. 11, Jewel of the Seas will sail roundtrip from Boston, with calls to Martha's Vineyard, Mass.; Portland and Bar Harbor, Maine; Saint John, New Brunswick; and Halifax, Nova Scotia. On Oct. 31, Jewel will sail its scheduled 12-night repositioning voyage from Boston to Fort Lauderdale, its winter homeport for six- and eight-night Eastern and Western Caribbean cruises.
