Thread: The Jewel is changing it's fall 2007 itineraries!

We were scheduled for a transatlantic cruise on the Jewel leaving Harwich, England on Sept. 10. Now it looks like the ship will remain in Europe until Oct. 30 and has TOTALLY changed it's itinerary for the transatlantic. It's no longer doing the northern route which was going to be great. The new schedule is:

I really don't understand their reasoning for this. The fall leaf cruises to New England are very popular and those cruises are now cancelled. It's been mentioned on the DS that the ship will be going into drydock. None of this is confirmed yet, but the new schedule available. The cruise now listed for Sept. 10 is:

What a bummer Garry!!! Are you going to change it????

We probably will Sue. We love sea days and on transatlantic cruises the ship is our destination. The Jewel is a fabulous ship. Besides, when we do transatlantics we like to do "round trips" because it saves on frequent flyer miles. We get round trip tickets with an open return and then do another transatlantic cruise the next spring. So in the spring of 2008 we'll be cruising again.

They may be keeping it in europe for a drydock. They keep changing the maintenance schedule on the Azipods. It is better to be carefull with that program.
