My daughter wants to "cliff dive" while we're in Ocho Rios next month, but I'm having a hard time finding where you can go and do that? Can anyone help?

That sounds scary! I haven't read anything about "cliff" diving other than what the professionals do. How high a cliff is she wanting to dive from?![]()
Cliff "jumping" is more like it ;-) She's just seen a lot of shows and you tube videos where a lot of people jump off an elevated area into the water below and they call it "cliff diving". I know I saw one excursion where they tubed down the White River and they stopped at one point and let them do this (wasn't a ship excursion). Wondering if they do this at Dunns River Falls?
There are a bunch of videos on you tube, but here is a link to one that gives you an idea of what she wants to do: YouTube - Cliff Diving over in Jamaica

I see now! I would imagine the reason you don't see too many offered as an excursion would be because of the liability issue. How old is your daughter? Is she old enough to legally sign a waiver?

Negril....don't do it.
She turns 16 on our trip. And I saw some videos from Negril... too far away. Why do you say "don't do it"?

Ochos Rios Tours offers a Dunn's River Tubing excursion which allows participants to take a 20 foot plunge into ocean upon completion of the raft/tubing trip.
Based upon your daughter's age, I'm going to say that 20 feet will more than satisfy her desire to take the plunge!
Before you let her jump anywhere or jump higher than 20ft., I'd really reading up on proper form and technique. Those guys at Rick's Cafe in Negril and the other spots on the island are really pushing their luck.
Please review this site before even considering jumping off a cliff in Negril. Rick's Cafe Negril Jamaica | Cliff jumping at Rick's cafe Negril | Visit Jamaica | Jamaica Vacations | Jamaica Negril | Jamaica News
I hate to sound like a kill-joy on this one, but I can't reasonably make a recommendation other than - find a better activity to do on your upcoming cruise. There's so much to do other than cliff jumping.
Thanks so much for posting!
