Officially ravenous, I worked my way back to the grill

I inhaled the cheeseburger - yum and then the good stuff - jerk chicken!

It was starting to look rainy so I started thinking about heading back to the ship.

The taxi driver wanted $7 for the ride back to the ship. I explained it was only $5 from the ship. He didn't want to budget so I offered some suggestions with what he could do with his taxi and decided to walk back to the ship and was glad that I did. Even in the rain!

I was already wet and had a wide brim hat that worked great as an umbrella. Plus I got to see some different angles of the ship. Again, no one harassed me or tried to sell me anything. A number of taxis stopped to ask if I was ok or if I wanted a ride, but I was having too much fun by then and told them all to sail on.

Sunset Beach is on a peninsula away from downtown MoBay, so taxis were about the only traffic. It only took about 15 minutes to walk including several photo stops.

Rain rarely lasts a long time in the islands, and then it was over

We were serenaded (Sort of). People were throwing money from the ship!

And we are off

Received and email from someone with questions:
" I joined Cruise Line Fans: Cruise Reviews and Chat From Real Cruisers tonight and read your thread on Sunset Beach. I have been trying to get some information but has been very little. I see you were on the Conquest in November. We are sailing on Conquest in Feb. 08 and would like to go to Sunset Beach. Is it still $40.00 for the day? How long can you stay? What is recommended to wear besides a swimsuit? I thought the pictures you posted were very good. Any help is appreciated. Thanks,Barry "

The price is $40 - don't listen to any rumors on other cruise boards.

Just a swimsuit unless you want to eat in the sit down restaurant, then some dry clothes.

The construction should be finished before Feb unless it isn't. If it is finished, the snack bar will be by the other pool by the twin towers and offer more things to eat (like Jamaican patties) in addition to the hamburgers and jerk chicken.
