Hi Y'all!!

We have climbed Dunns River Falls and it's gorgeous. Definitely need some shoes on...I agree with Carol about the vendors. Don't let them get you down -- plus they are pushy all over the island. One evening my hubby and I were walking from our hotel to a restaurant and we decided to get all decked out in the stuff we had already bought: beads, hats, straw purses....funny thing, but nobody bothered us!!

We were there back in 1998 & it was cold back then. Doesn't that water ever warm up?

We were there in May and it was kind of cold but you get used to it. Then we are from the NW and all the water up here is cold so maybe we are used to it

The falls are well worth the trip. My husband and I did not climb them, because of my bad back I was afraid if I slipped and fell our cruise would be ended. But we took beautiful pictures of the falls and of other people climbing them, those are the pictures my grandkids love to look at the most. We also did the plantation tour and found that to be interesting. The vendors were pretty pushy tried to sell me some wooden love gods, said not thanks have enough children already don't need anymore. If i had a scanner would post pictures. Maybe for chiristmas.

We enjoyed climbing the falls, the vendors didn't bother us too much although one asked my husband if he wanted to buy some weed.

The first time we climbed the falls was back in the early 80's when it wasn't a popular tourist attraction. There must have been only 20 of us. It was great.

In 2004 we stopped there, 8 of us, 6 chose to begin the climb from the bottom. DH and I saw the mobs and decided to walk along the side from the top down. After an hour the other 6 in our party hadn't gotten even 1/2 way up when they decided to quit. There were 3 congo lines and people were falling everywhere. It was a mess.

We weren't bothered by any venders.
