you don't have to, You mostly just stand around in four feet of water. Even with the snorkeling Jim, you could do that because when you go on the ship's excursions, they make you wear a life vest. You just paddle around on your stomach with your face in the water. You will have a mask on! You need to try that, it's a whole new world under there. I'll never forget the first time I did it. knowing you like I do, I know you'd be out of your mind over it! But don't try in one the Pacific side, in my opinion the snorkeling is lousy. Next caribbean trip, try it.

Do they provide all the equipment? Mask and all?

We've been to Dunn's River Falls twice and it is a lot of fun... I would definitely wear a pair of wave-runners though as it is a little slippery in spots, plus the little stones tend to hurt the bare feet.. If I were you, I'd get a cab over, as it's only about 1.2 miles from the pier, if your in Ocho Rios.. We went once on a catamaran with the ships tour and it was a disaster.. We got a cab with another couple the next time and after paying admission and a locker, we saved about $75. and had a better time..

yes, they do. You've got to try it Jim, if you decide you don't like it, you can hang out on a beautiful beach but I think you're going to LOVE it.

Jim, you can't possibly sink with these vests on. Because of the pain in my side, I rented a vest in St John in case it hurt me to swim. I just paddled around everywhere, it was great. When we got to Trunk Bay, I noticed every single person that came in from the ships had one on. Also, when we booked the Stingray excursion thru the ship, we had to wear them. The ship is not going to risk losing a paying customer, especially one who pays as often as you do!
