Pisa is one of the popular sights to see when you port in Livorno.

Livorno traditionally called Leghorn is a port city on the Ligurian Sea on the western edge of Tuscany, Italy. It is the capital of the Province of Livorno, having a population of approximately 160,000 residents in 2009. The second-largest port on the western coast of Italy, Livorno supports substantial cruise-ship tourism to Florence and other destinations in Tuscany and Umbria

Our Coach took us to a Coach Park, and shuttle buses took us to the Piazza del Disomic (Cathedral Square) It’s only a short journey, then you walk by the side of the wall, where many vendors are selling souvenirs. You come to a small archway, and your first sight of the Leaning Tower of Pisa

Please note we were on a coach holiday touring Italy and not a shore excursion from a ship

Naturally around the Piazza del Disomic it is a tourist heaven. As you can see on one of the pictures, a common photo is someone making believe they are supporting the Tower of Pisa.

The Cathedral and surrounds are really beautiful and fully worth a visit. You can go around the Cathedral, also inside the Leaning Tower, for a fee.
