    Getting to the Port: Civitavecchia

From the Costa Cruises Website ( http://www.costacruise.com/B2C/USA/b...?&CallPort=CIV ):

For cruise guests arriving in ROME by airplane there is a train transfer service from the Fiumicino airport to the Roma Termini train station. From here you can proceed to Civitavecchia by train. Alternatively, you can reach the port by taxi at a cost of approx. Euro 150. We recommend that you verify and agree upon the price with the driver in advance.Map

We have transferred to Civitavecchia by train from FCO and it was straightforward although on our last visit we used Rome Cabs - welcome and Stefano Costantini in particular for transfers from Rome

That would be the train from the airport to Rome Termini - change train - and out to Civitavecchia, right??!!! They have not opened a direct train link thelast 6 months have they???

Getting to Civitavecchia is straight forward. Getting from Civitavecchia to Rome if there are 4 and more cruise ships in is not a very pleasant experience.

Hi Lars, yes we used the Leornado Express from FCO into Roma Termini and then took the train to Civitavecchia. The line from Roma Termini to Civitavecchia is a regular commuter line so I could imagine it could get packed in peak hours, nethertheless our journey was pretty easy.

Davy, there is a airport shuttle bus. Terravision and Shiaffini bus companies run services from Campiano to Termini.
Terravision has online special offers for Euro 5 one way or Euro 10 return compared to Euro 8 and euro 14 if you book at the ticket office.
Shiaffini bus service costs Euro 5 and you might be asked to pay Euro 1 for luggage. The bus stops alongside the main part of the railway station in Via Giolitti.
By train you have to take a public bus from the aiport to Anagina. From there you jump on the train or Metro. It is not a comfortable way to travel but costs Euro2 only. I would take a taxi which costs Euro 30 or the bus.
