    Island Princess Stateroom Question

The following staterooms are not yet booked for the Alaskan cruise in July that we are considering. They appear to be midship near the elevator on three separate decks. I've not been on this ship before. Is there a reason why these balcony min-suites appear to be still available?
    Caribe Deck C417, C503
    Baja Deck B431, B503
    Aloh Deck A429, A503

    Thanks for the help

Don't know why they haven't been taken yet, but July is half a year away so maybe it's like the rest of the industry. Will take a look at the deck plans to see what they're near. We stayed in C521, I believe, which is an inside midship, on our Hawaiian cruise. I don't think that most Alaskan cruises would require a midships cabin unless someone is ultra sensitive to motion (I tend to be but we stayed in a far forward cabin on the Sapphire on our Alaskan cruise without any problem).

Looked at the deck plans on Princess.com and it looks those are all cabins that allow for a third passenger. If there's just two of you and you're able to book one of them, make sure to mark your booking "no upgrade," or else make sure your TA will contact you if there's an attempt to move you. Else there's always the possibility that if Princess wants to sell that cabin to a party with three people, they may move you. And some moves won't be an improvement for everyone (even if Princess considers it an upgrade).

That was really good info on that type of cabin. I will keep that in mind when I talk to my agent. Thanks for all of the good comments. It's really good when information can be shared so that we can maximize our travel dollars. Bon voyage, Cap

Let's us know when you have something booked. And if you have further questions about the Island Princess. I've heard many people say it's their favorite ship.

This is VERY helpful when booking a balcony or mini-suite on either Island or Coral Princess ... tells which balconies are cover, partly covered, or uncovered!
