Hi Jim - we decided on AC this way we can be next to each other. Also we were able to get our cabins in the back where they have the bump out so our deck will be covered. We were in a VS on the Island and the Coral last time so this will be a change. I could not believe it but all the VS on this sailing is sold out and they have a waitlist, so there goes the upgrade fairy. We will just have to spend more time up on the sport deck playing basketball and shuffle board

Deb, HI!! I am a newbie to this board. I was on the Island Princess RT Hawaii 3/20 of this year. My 50th birthday was the 23rd, so we had a wonderful time. If you have any questions I would more than happy to answer. I have pictures as well....I'll have to figure out how to put them on this board but I do have them on webshots. So, ask away......I do work usually 6 days a week (unlike one of my acquaintances, isujim.....), but I will try to answer just as soon as I can (no computer access at work....). We did LOVE the cruise, and especially the sea days....

I'm going to look at your Coral pics when I wake up a bit more, thanks for the link. We loved the Island so know we'll love the Coral. Did you do the 10 day partial transit? That's what we're doing, we're excited about it!!

Deb, I loved your pictures!! Thanks!! And here is a coincidence for you--my maiden name was Deb Doherty!!!! Wehn I saw you were Deb Dougherty I cracked a huge smile!!

I also see that you are from Cape Cod, I was born in Boston and my godparents lived on Cape Cod, I still have some relatives in Buzzards Bay!!

Thanks for the great fun photos of your trip, you guys are my kind of cruise people...So we are down to less than 90 days and can't wait.... We just scored a great deal on Song out of Boston to LA (234.00 pp rt) I am very happy about this...

I've read some great reviews of Island's cruises to Hawaii (Hi, Dobie). The only negative some cruisers have mentioned is unsupervised kids. Many of us parents keep our kids in the kids' program or with us...but apparently there were a couple of sets of parents that let theirs run loose. Rough seas for the first couple of days have also been mentioned so I'm going to try out ginger.

This is a cruise (rt LA) with many sea days so its basic appeal is for those who have several cruises under their belt and enjoy sea days.

We're going to celebrate Christmas, Hanukkah, and New Years all on one trip!

Hi Cruisin Chick!! you will probably have a lot of kids on your sailing, since it is a holiday. Don't let your kids throw shoes down the stairways on peoples heads, or rip all of the signs off their cabin doors, OK? And don't let them take over the Lotus Pool area and be mean to people who tell them they are not allowed there.......

Obviously we know each other!!! Do your kids like to stay up that late for late seating?

Have a really good time, we loved the cruise!!!

I don't think you'll get sick, we didn't, it was a little rough but nothing we really noticed that much!!
