Thread: Hello to All

Recently found CLF, and VERY glad I did. The other site I've spent time with has become far too acrimonious, and I'm delighed to see none of that here. Spent a few days "lurking", and signed up today. I'm looking forward to reading all the wonderful posts from the knowledgable folks here. And I LOVE the huge variety of Smilies here.....so cool! Also noticed a number of the "owls" have roosted, and I particularly appreciated the posts of a number of them on the "dark side". Glad to see them here.

Me? I've "cruised" before, courtesy of the US Navy, not relaxing luxury ships by any means! But I did love those "underway" days...the motion of the ocean rocking me to sleep, rather vigorously at times. And the night sky is at it's best when there's no land in sight. I miss that; retired 5 years ago.

Booked a 4 day PNW cruise on Mercury as a Christmas gift for DH, and doing my best to turn him into an addict! DH and I are both in our mid 40's, love good food, wine, coffee, and conversation. It sounds like we'll find that on a cruise ship....except, perhaps, the coffee? Oh well, can't have everything!

As a "newbie", let me thank all of you in advance for the answers to all my rookie questions..
