from a fellow Patty. My hubby had a frugal upbringing so I can give you a few pointers:
1. get an inside cabin. Most of the time that's what we've done. We usually try to spend much of the time out of our cabin
2. read up on your destinations. sometimes you may find you don't need to do an excursion in every port. Often we get into town and just visit sights on our own. But then I'm not into physical stuff (like ziplining and such). We have even negotiated with a taxi driver we felt comfortable with for a city tour. Just be sure to be back on the ship on time. People have been left behind.
3. If you gamble, just do so on the first day. The odds are looser then. You'll save lots by not drinking or gambling.
Just a few thoughts. Maybe some other CLFers will come up with some.
