    Talking Newbie and very green.

I have just booked our very first cruise. We thought it would make a good Christmas present for our family. It will be my husband, myself and seven of our eight children. We're booked on Royal Caribbean - love the looks of the Dreamworks experience. I've taken a look at the family cruising thread but would love any advice, I'm feeling a tad bit overwhelmed by what I don't know. I'm hoping that I can find answers for those silly questions that keep creeping up on me.

Hey Reese! Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

Royal Caribbean is a very good cruise line for kids...so many activities to keep them busy. And you are taking 7! What is their age range?

Keep asking questions and you will get answers...we were all first time cruisers once.

Please feel free to ask any questions you have. I haven't been on any Royal Caribbean cruises but have taken our girl (she's just a few days away from her 14th birthday) on seven cruises, so I may be able to help you. If I don't have the answers, someone else may be more knowledgeable.

    Thanks for the welcomes!

A couple of questions off hand. Do I need to bring beach towels? Also are there any vaccinaions that I should be getting any of us before we leave? Our youngest is going to be 18 months , is it okay to bring her sleeping in her stroller to some of the onboard activities (ie. dance lessons)? Do they have soy milk on board?

Those are just a few off the top of my head. Travelling with this many children I
like to know exactly what I'm in store for.

Hey Reese Here are some answers for you...

You don't need to bring beach towels. Royal Caribbean provides towels for going ashore. Be sure to turn them back in or they will charge you for "buying" them.

    No inoculations required.

You can take the baby anywhere on the ship that you go...just make sure to take her out if she starts to fuss or become a distraction.

    Don't know about soy milk.

It might be a good idea to post your Royal Caribbean specific questions on our Royal Caribbean forum for more folks to see them.

By the way, which ship will you be on and what itinerary?
You can check out your ports of call over in our Cruise Places forum.
