And to make your choices even more daunting, Celebrity on its CC (concierge class) cabins and above offers you a choice of pillows. If you have any preferences, they probably have it in stock.

I agree with all the above about cabins. Five people in a single room is way too crowded! In our case we would have seriously thought about three cabins, especially if you have a mix of boys and girls. Maybe invite a friend?

I have sailed Carnival and NCL and they both had very comfortable beds.

Pete, Char and Nealberk are on the right track, for sure. It wouldn't be the comfort of the beds for me, but rather the comfort of the people!

I, too, would strongly suggest a minimum of two cabins, but like the idea of three. You'll have to consider the ages/likes/foibles/negatives/etc your teenagers have. Don't let them wholly dictate what kind of accommodations you book, but bear in mind that a week with grousing teens could ruin the whole experience for everyone!

to CLF! I would agree to find a cruise specialist as it's your first time. That's a travel agent who specializes in booking cruises.

People tend to disagree about beds. I know my hubby loves firm beds so he likes the ones on Princess. But he brings one of our pillows as he prefers ones with down.

One thing to definitely consider: if you get a separate cabin for your kids, make doubly sure to mark your bookings "no upgrade." Else you risk being moved away from your kids or vice versa.
