Thanks! That was Captain Tom Forberg's hat. It's mine now. Had to do with a silent auction on the Disney Wonder in 2002. Things got mishandled. I received his hat, autographed by him on the top, about an hour before disembarking the final morning. And yes, I too think it's a cool hat!

So, most people go on Disney because it is THE line people think about when it comes to kids. Beside the professionalism and topnotch service, what should an adult expect? (A loaded question......)

Yes, professionalism and service are first and foremost with DCL. I've sailed on the Magic and Wonder so much but don't know yet if the new Disney Fantasy will live up to my expectations (skipping the Disney Dream). My best friend and I are not taking any chances. We're going in a Cat T Concierge suite in April, mostly to be isolated from the masses just in case the increased number of passengers are too much for our liking. On the new Disney ships, Concierge has its own lounge with snacks and refreshments, private sun deck, and a gate to get to the concierge area.

On the Magic and the Wonder, I've never really had a problem with kids, and I am a child-free (my husband and I never wanted any) woman. The kids on DCL have their own deck with plenty of their own clubs and program activities. Most children I've seen have been well-behaved, with only a few exceptions.

For adults there is the adults-only Palo restaurant (plus Remy on the new ships), the spa, exercise classes, great shows (IF you like Disney, and I do), wine tasting, martini tasting (the only place I ever drink is cruising - and not excessively), beer tasting, a British-style pub, nightclubs with music, dancing, adult cabaret shows, lounges/bars, first run family movies with occasional R-rated films late night (lol), seminars, trivia, tours of various areas of the ship, bingo, karaoke, some deck sports, and yes there is a "singles mingle." There is also an adult pool but I've never been in it. There is an adults only Cove Cafe for a variety of coffee. And there is Disney's beautiful private island, Castaway Cay, with its numerous activities and with fancy new Cabanas (for those willing to pay). I'm sure I'm forgetting things, because I have my own "routine" that doesn't include much of the above.

But the important thing is that unless for some reason things don't go as they should, Disney Cruise Line is probably the BEST line to sail with if you DON'T want to hang out with the kids. Were it not, I certainly would not keep returning for more! BTW - Sorry for the lengthy answer. You got me going!

That is what I was trying to do. Actually I have heard that from a lot of people who do Disney. They do an excellent job of keeping the kids away from the adults for those adults who do not want non-stop kid time.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

A bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.
