Thread: Flights to San Juan?

We need to fly to San Juan on April 8, 2011 to catch the Celebrity Millenium but we are surprised how expensive flights are? We can fly from either Toronto Canada (the most expensive airport in the world) or from Buffalo, but even there it's seem a lot. The best I've seen so far for the two of us is $820.00 US from Buffalo. Anyone else joining us? We depart April 8/11 and return on April 18? Good thing the crusie was such an awesome deal to offset the flight! lol.

The flight prices are one of the reasons we have never booked a cruise out of San Juan. Always seem a bit high.

Air line prices are high from Pittsburgh to anywhere -- few planes -- no choices -- nothing direct -- they have us in a bine.

Yup, all the airfares to and from San Juan are really high and being from Canada you get the double whammy of Canadian charges.

While it is a hassle of getting your luggage than rechecking it, look at flights from Buffalo to Atlanta or New York separately from the San Juan flight. Air Tran and Jet Blue actually have some decent prices if you can get the days to match up with your cruise.

Southwest is in the process of acquiring AirTran.
That may tend to bring lower fares to San Juan
as AirTran currently flies to San Juan.
We can always hope.

Reggie, the answer is "maybe" AirTran is a discount carrier and is quite competitive with SWA in a lot of markets. Don't know how the Caribbean is going to shake out.
