Here's another website that tracks locations of various ships. But as far as ones that you can spot from your ship...you just have to luck out that ones following your ship (or that your ship is following) on the same itinerary are within binocular range.

Maybe if you meet up with an officer on your next cruise, you can ask if they know of any other ships that should be visible during your cruise.

    Kemo:

In all my cruises, I've only once seen another ship "at sea!"

But, I make it a point to see who (which ship) will be in port on the same day as I am. There's quite a handy site for this: www.CruiseCal.com. Be advised that they'll ask for $3 each month, or (I think) a year's fee of $24.99 or thereablouts.

You can search by port, by ship, and a variety of other measures. I use the site before any cruise I'm booked on. Folks I talk with, casually, seem impressed that I know what ships will be in port with us, as well as where those ships have been and where they're headed!

    Makes me look "smart!"

HI Kemo, this site Live Ships Map - AIS - Vessel Traffic and Positions shows the position of ships all over the world. If you can get on the site from the ship it would show you what other ships are around you.

You can get an idea of what you might see by checking what is in port the same day or a day either side but really it's just pot luck if you see anything.

Hi and Welcome to CLF. Cruising along the Mexican Riveria you can spot one or two ships with every voyage. I have to agree it's fun to spot and idnetify them. Of of course we don't have the numbers of ship here on the West Coast that you would for the numerous sailing out of Florida!!

Remember that the ocean is big and ships are quite small relatively speaking. So even if four ships were heading from the same port to the same port based on slight preferences by the captain and different ship speeds, you might not see each other.

If I don't know the answer I'm fairly certain I can find it.

A bad day at sea is better than a good day at work.
