    Israel from UK without flying

Hi, I have joined this forum in the hope of being able to discover if there are ANY cruises from the UK to Israel that don't involve flying. My husband has a medical condition which prevents him from flying but we would LOVE to see Israel. Anyone know of such a cruise?

Hey Christine! Welcome to our friendly cruise community!

I can sympathize with you about the flying! I don't know of any cruises myself, but our travel agent members may be able to suggest something. Perhaps a train to the port might be possible.

Head over to our Ask a Travel Agent forum and post your question.

I found a few cruises that do this, but most are on very expensive cruise lines, and one way. (I did a search on a website for an online travel agent.) I did find one that might work for you - it's roundtrip from Southampton on Cunard's new ship, the Queen Elizabeth, in October of next year.
    Here is the itinerary:

Fri Oct 28 London (Southampton), England 4:30pm
    Sat Oct 29 At Sea

    Sun Oct 30 At Sea

Mon Oct 31 Gibraltar, UK Territory 8:00am 1:30pm
    Tue Nov 1 At Sea

    Wed Nov 2 At Sea

    Thu Nov 3 At Sea

Fri Nov 4 Cairo (Port Said), Egypt 6:00am 9:00pm
    Sat Nov 5 Limassol, Cyprus 9:00am 6:00pm
Sun Nov 6 Jerusalem / Tel Aviv (Ashdod), Israel 7:00am 8:00pm
Mon Nov 7 Nazareth / Galilee (Haifa), Israel 7:00am 11:59pm
    Tue Nov 8 At Sea

    Wed Nov 9 Rhodes, Greece 8:00am 6:00pm
Thu Nov 10 Athens (Piraeus), Greece 8:00am 6:00pm
    Fri Nov 11 At Sea

    Sat Nov 12 At Sea

Sun Nov 13 Malaga, Spain Noon 6:00pm
    Mon Nov 14 At Sea

    Tue Nov 15 At Sea

Wed Nov 16 London (Southampton), England 6:30am

I also saw 2 cruises on P&O in 2012 that have similar itineraries. Normally, cruiselines separate Europe into several zones: Baltic, North Atlantic, Western Mediterranean and Eastern Mediterranean, and operate cruises in only one or two zones at a time. But it looks like Cunard and P&O are looking to bring more people from the UK into the Eastern Mediterranean, which is excellent in your case.

Cruises on other lines connect the UK to Israel, but are only one way at this time, and are very long.

I am hoping that this is just a sample of what's out there; I just did one search.

    Hi and welcome to www.cruiselinefans.com

MCcruiser got in first with the Queen Elizabeth cruise. I like the sound of that cruise, the downside is it's 19 nights and the brochure price for a D8 is over £2,000. Due to the distance involved, you will be lucky to find anything shorter which does not involve flying.

Cruises booked: Queen Victoria August 2012 and Queen Elizabeth December 2012.

There is no train service to any of the ports that would do the type of cruise that Christine is looking for?
