We like to travel light, so NCL has become our cruise line of choice. I no longer have to take a garment bag for a suit, and my wife doesn't have to take two or three dresses.

Our Med cruise is coming up this October/November, so we'll have more of an idea how much we like it after that.

We try to pick a busy cruise ... more port stops is better, in our opinion. Doing an excursion, then getting back to the ship in time to dress for the formal nights was not our idea of fun. Others enjoy just being on the ship, or really enjoy the formal attire nights and look forward to them. We have cruised also on Princess and Disney, and both have nice formal nights (which is to say I am miserable, but others are happy).

I can see that already. Somehow I feel much more comfortable here than I did o a different message board. You can count on me to ask questoins frequently because I don't want any preventable problems on my first cruise that scream "wrong decision."

By the way, I am the young lady next to a palm tree at an Orlando-area resort. The cats in my signature (Wilbur and Patricia) are the only two things I do not like about long vacations.

Have you looked at Compagnie du Ponant or Voyages to Antiquity. I deal mostly with these lines and I think that you may get a better experience that Princess without the high cost of Crystal and some very very interesting ports and itineraries that the larger ships can not do.
