Hello, My husband and I will be cruising the Society Islands in 30 days. We have been on 20+ cruises, but we've never been to Tahiti. We will be staying in Papeete 1 night pre-cruise and 1 night post cruise. I'm looking for hotel, restaurant, transportation, and tour recommendations. I have already reserved the Radisson for our 1st night and the Interconnental Hotel for our last night. But this is subject to change. Does anyone know how far it is from the cruise port to these hotels and the transportation cost? Your opinions and advice will be greatly appreciated!

Welcome to CLF, Tambran. Tahiti is one of my dream vacations, especially Bora Bora, but not a place we have been to yet. You have a really amazing vacation planned!

It looks like there are a couple of airports in Tahiti, both very close to where you are staying according to Google Maps. Of course, the island is note huge, about 28 miles across at it's widest point. According to Tahiti's official tourism website, you can rent a car but they recommend a cab or the public bus system.
Your hotel will probably have several tours they recommend, I see a lot of snorkeling adventures offered online.

One piece of advice from a friend of ours who honeymooned in Bora Bora... everything is quite expensive on the islands. He said they paid an average of $6 - $8 US for one beer and food was just as high, so plan to bring a little extra spending money with you for your stay.
